What I did, ate and saw in Paris

You read that right! Yours truly was in Paris last week and still dealing with the jetlag! I still can’t believe I made one of my bucket list come true and got to go to Europe for the very first time… and to see Beyonce too!!!!!

Back in February, I spent two sleepless nights waking up at 3AM to be on Paris time to purchase these Beyonce Cowboy Carter tickets and it was all worth it.

Where did I stay

I stayed in the 9eme arrondissement, at the Hôtel Beauquartier Montmartre . My hotel faced the infamous Moulin Rouge. It was small boutique hotel. It was a last minute rebooking as my trip did not actually went as I planned. The location was great but not having AC in the middle of a heatwave was not very pleasant! I did not know that most hotel in Paris did not have AC!

The neighborhood

The first thing I did after checking in was taking a shower (it was incredibly hot and humid, 40 degrees!) and a good nap! Afterwards, I went straight up to the Eiffel Tower! (5 years old me would be so proud).

What I saw

The next few days I got on my tourist mode and ventured at la Basilique Notre-Dame, le Louvre, Pantheon and went shopping at Galerie Lafayette, HERMES, CHANEL, Louis Vuitton. I was so overwhelmed with the architecture, design, history and shops! I was not able to see everything that I wanted on my list but still had a great time during those days.

The main exhibit that made me want to visit Le Louvre was the “Louvre Couture” exhibit. So many beautiful designed gowns were showcased throughout the museum. Here are some of my favourites:

Of course I had to check out the Mona Lisa!

What I ate

When it comes to food, I did not had any authentic French food as all the restaurants that I wanted to check out were all booked! I did however ate at an Haitian restaurant, Haitian Mama, in the 7e arrondissement. The food was really good and I felt less homesick!

Shopping in Paris

Oh my.. what an experience it is to shop in PARIS!!!!! Like I mentioned earlier, I was very overwhelmed with all the shops and Galerie Lafayette. It cannot be done in one day! I think I would need a good week to be able to shop in Paris. I was so impressed by the design of the Galerie. I felt like a little kid in a candy store!

With love,

MN
