Hello friends!
Last weekend I attended the Legacy Awards. The Legacy Awards by The Black Academy is an award show aimed to celebrate Black Canadian Talent. As an actress, it was so important for me to attend such an incredible occasion. Growing up in Montreal in the 90’s, Black representation in French TV was slim to none. Most of the time the representation showcased had a negative connotation to it. To have the opportunity to witness amazing Black talent receiving their flowers was a very powerful moment for me. My dream is to become Canada’s First, Black AND French-Canadian EGOT. I know it’s ONE BIG GOAL but one that I pledge on fulfilling. I know I have the talent for it and with the right people to guide me, ANYTHING is achievable.
I was very pleased with the venue, the audience, the hosts! OMG SO MUCH BLACK EXCELLENCE under one room was a beautiful thing to see. My people “dripped” in their best attires, the perfumes, hairstyles. Ah what a night! I attended this years gala as “General Admission” but I bet you I’ll return next year as a “Talent”.
What I wore:
- Dress: Victoria Beckham. Original sold out but found a similar style here
- Evening bag: Zara. Original sold out. Similar style here
- Shoes: H&M. Old
